Scarpa's ganglion (scg) is located within the internal auditory meatus. It consists of the bodies of the primary vestibular neurons which separated into a superior and an inferior group. The superior group innervates the cristae of the superior and lateral semicircular canals, the utricular macula and the anterosuperior part of the saccular macula. The inferior group innervates the crista of the posterior semicircular canal and most of the saccular macula. The central processes synapse in the vestibular nuclei in the brainstem.
